Neutral Land

~ Majestic Paris shirt, Zara shorts, Coach bag, Louis Vuitton bandeau (worn on bag), Tilkah bracelet, Coach shoes ~

Apologies for the prolonged absence of posts, but for the past week I have been out and exploring the Fijian islands (post to come soon). In the meantime, my attachment towards neutral shades still persists. Although neutrals have made their way into my daily life, accessorising with multiple layers of bracelets hasn't been in my best interest, although hopefully that changes as the weather transitions into Summer Spring. On another more technical note, I've switched to using my newly acquired camper, the Olympus Pen EPL-3. This certainly seems to be an adequate substitute for my usual DSLR for me at the moment.

Back to Black

~ T by Alexander Wang dress, Tory Burch bag, Lulu Frost necklace, Miu Miu flats ~

Ringing in 2012, I've started to gain a penchant for flaunting statement, or rather understated pieces that shine in front of a wash of a single colour. The weather has finally cleared up, and I'm looking forward to showcasing some of my favourite summer pieces. Whilst I prefer my everyday style to maintain a level of minimalism, I am always on the hunt for items that have a certain detail that tear it apart from the mainstream. This LBD is the perfect example, with the ruched back, yet classic design.

A Holiday of the Past

Following a week of rain and gloomy grey skies, the heavens finally cleared up in an effort to create a beautiful, clear Christmas day. While the holidays could certainly be deemed one of the most hectic weeks of the year, I completely enjoy the pre-Christmas sales. This year, I managed to find one of my now most coveted pieces of clothing, a vintage inspired lace shirt. For a casual day out, I paired this piece with a pair of denim cutoffs and floral booties. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. x.

~ i'm loving the conical heel of these booties ~

Light Up My Night

Lately, I've had this addiction to classical and novelty scented candles. They give off a gorgeous aroma that travels throughout the whole house and personally, I find them as a perfect compliment to a rainy day or you know, just because. As Christmas is fast approaching, I've set out to find the homiest scents and those that bring around  some much loved deja vu.

A Lacey Love Affair

When lace first manifested on the fashion scene, no way was I sold into wearing the cloth made for elderly women. But as the fleeting years passed, the concept of donning lacy garments started to grow on me, and now, I have transformed into a slightly obsessed lace-loving freak. The thing I treasure most about lace is the glamorous 1920's vibe every time I dress myself in the fabric. And to top it off, chunky gold necklaces work every time as an old school vintage finishing touch.

Calling for Sunshine

~ summertime calls for wafer cones + ice cream ~

After months of wishing and hoping, Summer has finally arrived. And along with it comes its little treasures. This sticky season, I hope to properly explore the city I have been living in all my life, and am set on uncovering its hidden talents. Usually, I haul all my essentials to the beach and lounge around skimming through magazines books for hours on end. This year, keeping up an active schedule doesn't seem like such a nightmare.  Although I am bound to get reeled into yet another daydreaming state of mind.

~ colour? yes please! ~

~ the backward necklace is something i must conquer this season ~

~ with my hair swept into a neat bun, over-the-top earrings will steal the show ~

Stacked

~ Something Else shirt, Zara shorts, Marc by Marc Jacobs Clutch, Rings (details below) ~

Here's my philosophy when it comes to summer: pile on the accessories! Inefficient, maybe - i mean, metal wrapped around your body parts for hours on end isn't the most comfortable feeling- but as layering disappears and all you're left with are sheer fabrics and shorts, one may find pleasure in accessory stacking. I must confess that I'm white new to the concept of layering rings and other shiny things but if I'm going to be a jewelery hoarder, I may as well put them to good use. Do you have any tips on the art of layering?
